Chiropractor Responsibilities
As a Healios chiropractor, you will evaluate, treat, educate, and support patients with neuromusculoskeletal and spine-related conditions.
Responsibilities include:
- Performing comprehensive patient consultations and examinations
- Evaluating the spine and neuromusculoskeletal system
- Developing individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and goals
- Performing chiropractic adjustments and other appropriate manual treatments
- Helping patients improve mobility, reduce pain, and restore physical function
- Educating patients about their conditions, treatment recommendations, movement, and self-care
- Conducting progress examinations and re-examinations when clinically appropriate
- Adjusting treatment plans based on patient progress and outcomes
- Building positive and professional doctor-patient relationships
- Coordinating care with physical therapists, acupuncturists, medical providers, and other members of the clinical team
- Maintaining accurate, complete, and timely patient records
- Documenting treatment plans, patient progress, and prognosis
- Following HIPAA requirements and all applicable state and federal regulations
- Maintaining Maine chiropractic licensure and completing required continuing education
- Participating in planned community outreach and employer-funded marketing events
- Helping maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming treatment environment
- Demonstrating a positive and professional demeanor with patients and colleagues
Required Qualifications
- Doctor of Chiropractic degree from an accredited chiropractic college
- Active Maine chiropractic license or eligibility to obtain Maine licensure before employment
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, and terminology
- Ability to evaluate patients and develop individualized chiropractic treatment plans
- Strong manual adjusting and patient-care skills
- Effective written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to explain diagnoses, treatment recommendations, and wellness strategies clearly
- Commitment to accurate clinical documentation and regulatory compliance
- Patient-centered and outcomes-focused approach to care
- Ability to work collaboratively within an integrative healthcare team
Preferred Techniques and Experience
Experience or additional training in one or more of the following areas is preferred:
- Webster Technique
- Diversified Technique
- Activator Methods
- Nutrition or functional health
- Movement-based rehabilitation
- Integrative or multidisciplinary healthcare
Candidates do not need experience in every listed technique to be considered.
